One of the best hitters of the last twenty five years, Manny Ramirez was born on this day in 1972.
He played in the majors from 1993--2011 and was a 12 x all-star with a career .312 batting average and 555 home runs. I know his career was controversial but there was no doubt that the man could hit under any circumstances.
